🍸The Lehman Trilogy (closed)

Through April 20 at the Park Avenue Armory –

Cast includes Simon Russell Beale, Adam Godley, Ben Miles, Ravi Aujla.

Creative: Written by Stefano Massini,  adapted by Ben Power, directed by Sam Mendes, set by Es Devlin, costumes by Katrina Lindsay, videos by Luke Halls; lighting by Jon Clark, company voice work by Charmian Hoare, composer and sound designer, Nick Powell; music director, Candida Caldicot.

We came for Simon Russell Beale and the rave London reviews but left with so much more.  SRB, along with Adam Godley and Ben Miles, portray multiple Lehman brothers, family members, and business associates from 1800’s Bavaria to Alabama to Wall Street. The magnificent set, video, and music along with the stellar direction of Sam Mendes absorbs the audience into Stefano Massini’s storytelling, leaving you feeling like a personal witness during this 3 hour and 20 minute journey.  Intelligent, moving, epic.  Try to get tickets to this mostly sold out Armory production.

Running time: 3 hours 20 minutes.

  1. You didn’t mention Ben Power’s wonderful translation AND adaptation of the original Massini story! We saw it again as a National Theater Live production and loved it as much as we did at the Park Avenue Armory. I believe they are repeating it again in September.
